Krpano + Panotour

version 1.0.8.12

It seems that tiled movies flicker more than non-tiled movies.

When using droplet MAKE PANO (NORMAL) droplet, it produces the tiles (including tablet and phone versions, very cool), xml, html but also 2 big files, the player with licence (swf) and the detection/install script (js) (about 100kb each).

Hans Nyberg on cube face sizes with Krpano

Hans Nyberg Very beautiful Marcin Kowalski. Not at all oversharpened. Its just hard to avoid shimmering with a subject like this, however I give you some tips. You should change the levels of the cube faces and the initial FOV so that they match better to the common screen sizes. The reason for shimmering is that size is to large or to small for the screen size. Your levels are 512-1107-2214-4427 and you have a very large FOV . You are wasting bandwidth also because 80% of the users have to load all the first 3 levels. On 1280×800 and similar monitors you load around 8mb to see the pano even without zooming. You can cut that to half by starting at 1600 cubefaces as the first one. Then use 1.6 as the factor so that next size is 2560 and the last is 4096. If you set the FOV to 100 you now have a perfect size with minimum shimmering. The 2560 will fit to my 27″ iMac. I have made the same mistake for years using the standard sizes with 512-1024-2048.
